Terms of Service

The rules for using the Redefinition Foundation website, events, and community programmes, including REDEF UK.

1. Who We Are

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website and services of the Redefinition Leadership and Education Foundation ("Redefinition", "REDEF", "we", "us"). Redefinition is a leadership and education foundation operating from Nigeria, with community chapters in other countries, including REDEF UK. You can reach us at info@redefinition.org.

2. Acceptance of These Terms

By using our website, registering for our events, applying to join our communities, or using any of our services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use our services.

3. Accounts, Registrations and Applications

Accurate Information

When you create an account, register for an event, or apply to join a community or volunteer team, you agree to provide information that is accurate and up to date, and to keep any login credentials secure.

Community and Volunteer Applications

Submitting an application to join a Redefinition community, volunteer team, campus ambassador programme, or partnership programme does not guarantee acceptance. Volunteering with Redefinition is voluntary and unpaid, and does not create an employment relationship.

Regional Communities

Some communities are region-specific. Applications to REDEF UK are open to people living in the United Kingdom and require a UK phone number. Other regional communities may have their own residency requirements.

Misuse

We may suspend or close accounts, and decline or remove registrations or applications, where we reasonably believe these Terms have been broken or where information provided is false or misleading.

4. Events

Registration and Entry

Event passes are personal to the named registrant and are not transferable unless we say otherwise. We may refuse entry or ask an attendee to leave where reasonably necessary for the safety or wellbeing of others.

Photography and Recording

Our events may be photographed, recorded, or streamed. By attending, you accept that images or recordings that include you may be used in our galleries, reports, and promotional material. If you would like an image of you taken down, contact us at info@redefinition.org and we will act on it.

Changes and Cancellation

Event details (including dates, venues, and speakers) may change. Where an event is cancelled or materially changed, we will tell registrants using the contact details they provided.

5. Your Content

Where our services let you post or upload content (for example messages on an event mood board or photos), you keep ownership of that content. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and share it as part of running and promoting our programmes. You must not post content that is unlawful, offensive, misleading, or that infringes someone else's rights. We may remove or hide content at our discretion.

6. Donations

Donations made through our website are voluntary gifts that support our programmes and are processed by third-party payment providers. If you believe a donation was made in error, contact us at info@redefinition.org as soon as possible and we will work with you to put it right. Nothing on our website is financial or tax advice.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse our services. That includes not attempting to gain unauthorised access to our systems or data, not interfering with the operation of the website, not scraping or harvesting personal data, not impersonating any person or organisation, and not using our services for anything unlawful.

8. Intellectual Property

The Redefinition name, logo, branding, and the content we publish on this website belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, or use them for commercial purposes without our written permission. You are welcome to share links to our pages and to share our public content with attribution.

9. Third-Party Services and Links

Our services rely on third-party providers (for example payment processors, email providers, and video platforms) and may link to external websites. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.

10. Disclaimers and Liability

As-Is Services

Our website and services are provided "as is" and "as available". We work hard to keep them accurate and running, but we do not guarantee that they will always be available, error-free, or up to date.

What We Do Not Exclude

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you use our services as a consumer, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights, including your rights under United Kingdom consumer law where it applies to you.

Our Responsibility

Subject to the above, we are not liable for indirect or unforeseeable losses arising from your use of our free services, such as loss of data or loss of opportunity.

11. Governing Law

If you live in the United Kingdom, these Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and you may bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. Otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If you are a consumer, you also keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of the law of the country you live in.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services or the law. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date on this page, and for significant changes we will give a more prominent notice. Your continued use of our services after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
